In a sea of white companies making statements aimed at Black and Brown customers…

We want to talk to our white colleagues, clients and neighbors.

Metropolist Real Estate is a company founded on an ethic of community building and education. We hold highest our value of working to elevate the quality and professionalism of our industry and the greater good of our community.

We are majority woman and queer-owned and operated.

We are also very, very white.

We operate in an industry that remains white-dominated and has a deeply entrenched racist history.
We are committed to leveraging our Gatekeeping status toward anti-racism and social justice.

We invite you to join us, to look within and make this a 360 degree, full sensory experience.

We do stand in support of our black and brown neighbors. But we do so in great part by amplifying black and brown voices, educating ourselves, identifying our complicity, continuously redirecting our deeply ingrained biases, and working to lead our industry to do the same.

We must be fully responsible to educate ourselves without burdening people of color to do so, and strive to become the best possible co-conspirators and accomplices with the goal of creating a society where all marginalized members of our community are safe and well served.

Here are just a few of the resources Metropolist’s have shared with one another.

“The beauty of anti-racism is that you don’t have to pretend to be free of racism to be an anti-racist. Anti-racism is the commitment to fight racism wherever you find it, including in yourself. And it’s the only way forward.” — Ijeoma Oluo
