SoDo is BOOMING!

This area of Seattle has been booming in recent years and it’s becoming a great place to work and play. Restaurants, bars, shops and all manner of businesses have cropped up just since we got here and it’s pretty exciting stuff. One of the most exciting aspects is the well established, but little known and growing street art presence.

SoDo Track & Urban Artworks put Seattle on the Street Art Map. Over 20 years ago a plan was developed by community members and SoDo business owners to enrich the surroundings and discourage graffiti by creating murals throughout the area known as the SoDo Urban Arts Corridor. Eventually the organizers founded Urban Artworks, a non-profit organization that employees disadvantaged and homeless teenagers.

This summer Metropolist partnered with 4Culture and SoDo BIA to host the SoDo Track opening which celebrated and launched the SoDo Track mural project. The SoDo Track is going to make our city a street art destination unlike any other in the world!
